Sphere Size And Shipping Guide

∅2200mm (∅71/3 feet) is the largest sphere that ships by conventional freight in a 20ft or 40ft container.

∅3500mm (∅11½ ft) is the maximum loading capacity of a 20ft or 40ft flat rack, including packaging.

Larger sizes can be produced, but they require special shipping options or segmentation.

We build the sphere complete, then cut it into quarters or eighths. Two ribs are welded to each edge of every segment as an internal structure for supporting and connecting the parts.

The ribs are AISI 304 stainless flat steel bar, bent, 5mm (6GA) thick and 75mm (3 inch) wide, drilled so the structure bolts together on site.

The Santa Fe Opera project used this route for a ∅3.6 metre sphere shipped in a regular 40ft container.

Express door to door suits samples and small orders. DHL, UPS, FedEx and Aramex are available in most countries, and China EMS in some. Delivery is usually 3 to 7 days by the express carriers, 7 to 15 days by EMS. Remote addresses attract an additional remote area charge.

Bulk air door to airport suits medium and urgent orders, usually around 3 days to your local airport, and your forwarder collects the goods.

Sea warehouse to seaport suits larger orders. It takes longer but is the cheapest route, usually 15 to 30 days to your local customs.

EXW is the best choice if you want full authority over the cargo through your own carrier.

FOB is the best choice if you have a courier handling the shipment in China.

C&F means you collect the cargo from the harbour or inland terminal.

DDU means the cargo is delivered to your address with duty unpaid.

We do not offer DDP, because duty varies with each country's customs policy and our courier can rarely collect it.
