Product Overview

We supply hollow steel balls in Q235 carbon steel and AISI 201, 304 and 316 stainless steel. Three forming routes are available and each one gives a different seam, thickness range and cost, so the right choice depends on the diameter and on how the sphere will be seen.

Hollow steel balls have many functions across decoration and architecture: industrial floating balls, indoor and garden decorative elements, handrail finials, and mirror or matt candy colour gazing balls after vacuum metalizing or electroplating.

Problems It Solves

  • A visible equator seam ruins a mirror finish. Stamping and water pressuring both leave an invisible seam after grinding.
  • Hanging a sphere needs a thread, not a glued fitting. We tap metric and unified threads directly into the wall.
  • Small custom diameters normally need tooling. Five standard press hole moulds cover the common sizes without a mould fee.

Materials

We form spheres and hemispheres in AISI 304, AISI 316 and AISI 316L stainless steel, Q235 carbon steel, H62 brass alloy and A6061 aluminium alloy. The alloy decides corrosion resistance, weight and how the surface takes a polish.

Manufacturing Process

Forming happens by stamping press, water pressuring, spinning or hand assembling. Two halves are joined at the equator, the weld is ground, and the surface is finished last, after any cutting or drilling has been done.

Quality Control

  1. Incoming material

    Alloy and sheet thickness are checked against the order before any blank is cut.

  2. Forming check

    Diameter and wall are measured after pressing, spinning or water pressuring.

  3. Weld and grind

    The equator weld is inspected, then welds and burrs are ground off before finishing.

  4. Surface inspection

    Every piece is inspected for scratches, dents and polish consistency under light.

  5. Packing

    Protective packing is built around the diameter and weight, and photographs are sent before dispatch.

Use Guide

  1. Confirm the diameter first

    Diameter drives the forming route, the wall thickness, the price and the freight mode. Settle it before anything else.

  2. Match the alloy to the site

    304 inland, 316 near salt water or pools, Q235 where a rust patina is wanted, brass or aluminium where weight or colour matters.

  3. Choose the finish last

    Finishing always happens after forming, welding, cutting and grinding, so pattern edges stay clean.

  4. Plan the fixing

    Tell us whether the piece is bolted, threaded, welded to a base tube or suspended, and we build the fitting into the part.

  5. Check the shipping limit

    ∅2200mm fits a container, ∅3500mm fits a flat rack, and larger spheres are segmented with bolted ribs.

FAQ

Which forming method should I ask for?
Under ∅700mm with a perfect mirror finish, ask for stamping press. Between ∅200mm and ∅3500mm at any custom size, ask for water pressuring. If you need heavy wall thickness up to 16mm, ask for spinning.
Do you charge a mould fee?
Standard sizes have no mould fee. A customised size under ∅250mm needs a new stamping press mould, charged at USD 1,000.
Can I order Stainless Steel Basketball in a different size?
Yes above ∅200mm, where there is no standard mould limit. Below ∅250mm a customised size needs a new stamping press mould, charged at USD 1,000.
How is it packed and shipped?
Protective packing is built around the diameter and weight. Samples and small orders go by DHL, UPS, FedEx or Aramex in 3 to 7 days. Larger orders go by air in around 3 days to your airport or by sea in 15 to 30 days.
What do you need from me to quote?
