Causes of slip ring signal interference

Slip rings are rotary connectors, especially suitable for devices that need to rotate and transmit signals at the same time. However, sometimes during the operation of the equipment, signal distortion may occur. This is because the slip ring signal is interfered with. The following slip ring manufacturers will tell you the reasons for the interference of slip ring signals.

There are two main reasons for the interference of slip ring signals, one is the wire problem, and the other is the internal structure problem.

Different signals need to be transmitted, and different wires are used. Many signals are sensitive and require special wires, and the signal shielding effect must be done well, otherwise there will be signal loss or crosstalk. Slip ring manufacturers remind that the commonly used transmission signals of slip rings are switch/control signals, RS485/232 signals, video signals, low-frequency pulse signals, thermal resistance signals, strain gauge signals, VGA signals, solenoid valve signals, Profibus signals, encoder signals, TTL level signals, Canbus signals, 100M/1000M Ethernet and other signals.

If the slip ring is not shielded at a key position, it will cause signal crosstalk. Slip ring manufacturers remind that signal interference should be paid special attention to near the power ring, because the magnetic field near the power ring will cause some signals to be interfered. This requires slip ring manufacturers to pay attention to the isolation and shielding between the internal signals of the slip ring, and use special wires for special signals to ensure that the signal is not lost or crosstalked.

About This Article

Who wrote this article?

It was written by the engineering team at JiuJiang Ingiant Technology Co., Ltd, a slip ring and rotary joint manufacturer in Jiujiang, Jiangxi, China.

Can INGIANT supply the parts described here?

Yes. 728 slip ring and rotary joint models are published on this site with full parameter tables, and units outside the catalogue are designed to order.

How do I get a specification checked?

Send the rotating speed, installation size, circuit count, voltage and current per ring, signal types, temperature range and IP requirement by WhatsApp or email and an engineer will review it.

Have a Rotating Axis That Needs Solving

Send the speed, the envelope, the circuit count and the signal types and INGIANT will come back with a design and a lead time.
