Slip Rings for Rotary Packaging and Filling Machinery

Rotary fillers, cartoners and wrapping machines turn continuously at high rate, and every rotating station needs power, control signals and often compressed air delivered while it turns.

Industry Pain Points

What Goes Wrong on These Axes

Constraint 1

Continuous rotation at production speed rules out any cable that has to unwind between cycles.

Constraint 2

Food, beverage and pharmaceutical lines are washed down, so the joint has to be sealed to a hygiene standard.

Constraint 3

Clamping and vacuum stations need air as well as electricity on the same axis.

How INGIANT answers it

Through bore slip rings are the usual choice in beer and beverage filling machines, and in paper, food and pillow packaging machines. Waterproof units let fully and semi-automatic filling equipment meet hygiene requirements, and gas-electric combination units add the pneumatic passages on the same axis.

FAQ

Packaging and Filling Questions

What IP rating do I need on a washdown line?

State the cleaning regime with your enquiry. INGIANT builds to IP54 as standard and to higher sealing grades up to IP68 where the application calls for it.

Can air and power go through the same joint?

Yes. Gas-electric hybrid units combine pneumatic passages with power and signal rings, and some also carry Ethernet.

How fast can these units run?

Standard catalogue units are rated 0–600 rpm and higher speeds are designed to order.

Specify a Rotating Connection for Packaging and Filling

Send the rotating speed, the installation envelope, the circuit count, the signal types, the temperature range and the IP requirement and INGIANT comes back with a design.
