How INGIANT answers it
On a carousel the stator is fixed to the base and the rotor is connected to the shaft, so the copper ring and brush wire assembly inside carries electricity, signals and data while the ride turns. Large rides normally use collector rings chosen for wear resistance and long life, or customised conductive slip rings matched to the equipment.
