FR B1 ACP

Class B1 fireproof panel balancing fire performance, flatness and cost — the workhorse for regulated cladding projects.

Product Overview

FR B1 ACP At A Glance

B1 keeps a polyethylene core but compounds it with flame retardants so it does not ignite easily and flame spread stays slow. It is classified B1 under GB 8624-2012.

For mid-rise commercial work where the code stops short of demanding a non-combustible class, B1 is the practical answer: better fire behaviour than standard core, easier to laminate flat than A2, and considerably less expensive.

Key Benefits

Why Buyers Choose This Panel

01

Meets B1 where the code allows it

Written into many mid-rise commercial and public building specifications.

02

Easier fabrication than A2

Closer to standard panel on the router and the folder.

03

Lighter than a mineral core

Less load on the substructure than A2 for the same thickness.

04

Cost between standard and A2

The middle option when A2 is not required.

Application Scenarios

Where It Is Used

Mid-rise commercial facades

Offices, retail and mixed-use where B1 is the written requirement.

Interior linings in regulated buildings

Corridors and partitions under an interior fire specification.

Canopies, soffits and column covers

Detailing that must match the main elevation's fire class.

Refurbishment under an upgraded code

Where standard core is no longer acceptable but A2 is not demanded.

Who It Is For

  • Main contractors on mid-rise commercial work
  • Facade fabricators quoting to a B1 specification
  • Interior contractors in regulated buildings
  • Distributors serving code-driven markets

Problems It Solves

  • Paying for A2 where B1 is writtenReading the code clause carefully can take a large cost out of the facade package.
  • Standard core no longer acceptedMany markets have tightened. B1 is the step up that keeps fabrication familiar.
  • Flatness on filled coresFlame-retardant compounds change lamination behaviour; our line runs the same flatness check on B1 as on standard product.

How To Specify And Order

FAQ

FR B1 ACP FAQ

What is the difference between A2 and B1?

A2 has a mineral core and is practically non-combustible. B1 has a flame-retardant polyethylene core: it does not ignite easily and flame spread is slow, but it is a combustible material. Which one you need is set by your local code, building height and use.

Is standard PE-core panel fire rated?

Standard PE core is classified B2, normal flammable, under GB 8624 and is suitable for interior decoration only.

Can I get B1 in a custom colour?

Yes. Core and coating are specified separately, so any standard or custom colour can be supplied on B1 core, with a 1,000 m² MOQ for fully custom colours.
