What This Product Is For
A stainless steel tee is a T shaped fitting with three branches, used to divide or combine pipelines, adjust flow rate and change direction. It is made as an equal tee where all three ends share one size, and as a reducing tee where the branch is smaller. Tees are hot worked by extrusion, drawing, forging and rolling, seamless up to NPS 24 inch and welded above that, in grades from WP304 through 904L.
Key Benefits
- Equal and reducing forms cover both header taps and full size branches
- Seamless construction up to NPS 24 inch, welded above, so the whole diameter range is covered
- Six standards supported so the fitting suits ASME, DIN and JIS detailing
- Thirteen grades including duplex 2205, super duplex 2507 and super austenitic 904L
- Supplied with ISO 9001:2015, API Q1 and a 3.1 certificate

Who It Is For
- Pipe spool fabricators building headers and manifolds
- Piping designers working to ASME B16.9 or B16.25
- Buyers who need a 3.1 material certificate
- Distributors stocking butt weld tees across the DN range
Problems It Solves
- Fabricated branch connections that need reinforcement pads and extra NDT
- Certificate gaps when a project requires EN 10204 3.1 documentation
- Mixed standards across ASME, DIN and JIS on the same project
- Long lead times on large diameter welded tees
Application Scenarios
- Header and manifold branch connections
- Flow splitting and combining points in process lines
- Reducing branch tappings for instruments and drains
- Duplex and super austenitic piping in aggressive service

Quality Control
- Branch and run dimensions checked against ASME B16.9
- Wall thickness verified at the crotch where forming thins the section
- 3.1 certificate issued against the heat
- API Q1 and ISO 9001:2015 procedures applied to the production route
Certification
- ISO 9001:2015
- API Q1
- EN 10204 3.1 certificate
Customisation Options
- Equal or reducing branch size specified on the order
- Any of the thirteen listed grades
- Packing in wooden case, on pallet, or as requested
Use Guide
- Specify run size and branch size separately when ordering a reducing tee
- Match the schedule of the tee to the run pipe so the bevels line up
- Ask for the 3.1 certificate at order stage if the project requires it
- Check the crotch wall thickness against the design pressure before welding
How It Compares With the Alternatives
| Reducing tee | An equal tee carries the same size on all three ends, a reducing tee drops the branch size so a smaller line can tap a header without a separate reducer |
|---|---|
| Fabricated stub in branch | A formed tee has a smooth crotch radius and no reinforcement pad, which lowers stress concentration and simplifies inspection |
| Welded tee above 24 inch | Seamless tees run up to NPS 24 inch, and larger sizes are made welded because no seamless mother pipe exists at that diameter |
