The narrow Monforts brush wheel at 180 x 22 mm. The narrow body suits the tighter brush positions on a Monforts rail where the big 220 mm wheel will not fit. A stenter brush wheel presses the fabric selvedge down onto the pins as the cloth enters the rail. If the bristles are worn, too soft or the wrong grade for the fabric, the selvedge is not pushed fully onto the pins and the edge lets go inside the chamber.
