Food waste arrived contaminated with plastics, metals and oversized objects, and carried a high moisture content that limited how much a composting machine could absorb per day.

Our Solution

A TMK-5000 composting machine was paired with four accessory pieces: a sorting platform, an oil and water separator, a shredder and a squeezer. Waste is emptied onto the sorting platform, contamination is removed by operators, then the material passes through separation, shredding and squeezing before being conveyed directly into the composting machine.

Quality Control

Contamination is removed by operators before any material reaches the mechanical line, which protects the shredder and the composting chamber and keeps the finished compost clean enough to screen and use as a soil amendment.

Final Result

The TMK-5000 has a daily capacity of 5000 kg. Paired with the four accessories, the machine's capacity was increased to 8 tonnes a day, with food waste composted in 24 hours and a reduction rate of 80 to 90%.

Customer Benefit

The site now handles a larger contracted volume with the same core machine, and the compost can be screened and used as a soil amendment rather than sent on for further treatment.
