It is used, but the coating life is shorter. Where the asset has to last, stainless with passivation is the honest answer.

Which stainless grade for salt spray?

The source specification does not publish a grade, so it is confirmed in writing per order rather than claimed here.

Why does passivation matter more here?

Chlorides attack anywhere the passive layer was damaged by cutting, welding or handling. Passivation restores it across the fabricated panel.

Can you supply matching stainless fixings?
