A Yantai Steel Grating Factory That Built An Export Company For Custom Work
YanTai ShengJingYe Metal Manufacturing Co., Ltd was established in 2023 as the export arm of YanTai ShengJingYe Steel Grating Co., Ltd, which has made steel grating for the domestic Chinese market since 2010.
Why There Are Two Companies
The head office, YanTai ShengJingYe Steel Grating Co., Ltd, was established in 2010 and works mainly in the domestic market. In 2023, to meet foreign customers’ requirements for high quality and a wider range of product types, the company established a subsidiary, YanTai ShengJingYe Metal Manufacturing Co., Ltd, aimed at foreign markets. That is the company this site belongs to, and it is why custom work and small batches are normal here rather than exceptional.
What The Plant Produces
Heel guard steel grating, ditch steel grating, concrete hook cover grating and ball joint stanchions. By structure the products divide into socket steel grating, press locked steel grating and welded steel grating. By material they divide into carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium alloy grating. By surface treatment they divide into hot-dip galvanized, electroplated galvanized and painted, with acid passivation used on the stainless work.
The Workshop
The production workshop covers 8000 square metres and runs one fully automatic pressure welding production line together with more than thirty other stamping, welding and laser cutting machines. That combination is what lets a panel, its frame, its hooks and its handrail be produced in the same building rather than subcontracted and then assembled on site.
Cutting And Stamping
Laser cutting and stamping equipment is what makes bar ends square, serrations repeatable and cut-outs accurate across a batch. On a grating panel those details are not cosmetic: a bar end that is not square does not sit flat in a frame, and a cut-out that is out of position stops an installation.
The Design Team
The company describes its biggest advantage as having a design, production and after-sales team, and its site advertises a professional 3D model design team. In practice that means a panel, its frame and the opening it has to sit in are modelled before any bar is cut, which is where the expensive mistakes get caught.
Customization Is The Product
The company states that its products support customized production, meeting customer requirements at every stage: functional design, material selection, processing technology, welding requirements and surface treatment requirements. Being good at small batch and customized products is how it describes itself, and it is the reason a project quantity is an ordinary order here.
Export
The products are mainly targeted at foreign markets, which is what the 2023 subsidiary was created for. Panels are stacked flat, banded and packed for sea freight, and where a layout drawing is supplied they are marked for their position so they can go straight to the right opening on site.
