Product Overview
The VQ series is the higher pressure development of the V frame. The intra vane arrangement puts a smaller vane inside the main vane so the tip loading stays under control as pressure rises, which lets the pump work harder without shortening cartridge life. We machine complete VQ pumps and cartridges in single frames from 20VQ to 45VQ and double frames from 2520VQ to 4535VQ, on the original mounting and shaft patterns.

Manufacturing Process
- Turning and millingBlanks are turned and milled from certified bar and forging stock on CNC machines.

- GrindingBores, spline seats and running faces are ground after heat treatment so distortion is removed.
- Lapping and superfinishingValve plates, shoe faces and block faces are lapped so the pair seals under pressure.
- InspectionDimensions, hardness and surface finish are recorded against the drawing on a sampling plan.
- Assembly and testComplete pumps are built, run in and tested for efficiency, leakage and noise before packing.
Quality Control
- Incoming material certificates are checked against the grade called for on the drawing.
- Hardness is measured after heat treatment on every batch and recorded on the batch card.
- Critical bores and running faces are gauged against the drawing tolerance, not against a sample part.
- Mating parts are matched as a set so the block, shoes and valve plate run in together.
- Rebuilt pumps are bench tested for volumetric efficiency, external leakage and sound level.
- Parts are cleaned, oiled and vacuum sealed so they arrive without surface rust.

Use Guide
- Confirm the full model code including the displacement and rotation digits.
- Replace the shaft seal whenever the cartridge is changed.
- Fit the cartridge with the arrow following the direction of drive rotation.
- Fill the case with clean oil and turn the shaft by hand before starting.
- Run at low pressure for ten minutes, then step the relief valve up to the working setting.

Can a VQ cartridge go into a V housing?
No. The cam ring profile and rotor differ, so the two families are not interchangeable. Order the cartridge that matches the housing you have.
Why does the VQ frame last longer at high pressure?
The intra vane arrangement balances the pressure acting on the vane tip, so the tip does not dig into the cam ring as the working pressure rises.
Do you build the double frames as a matched pair?
Yes. Both cartridges are assembled and matched to the shaft before the pump leaves the bench.
