V10 and V20 Series Vane Pumps and Double Units
V10 and V20 compact vane pumps with V2010 and V2020 double units, supplied complete or as cartridge kits, shafts and seal kits.

Product Overview
V10 and V20 are the small frame vane pumps found on compact power units, tail lifts, small presses and light mobile equipment. V2010 and V2020 combine two sections on one shaft. The frames are simple, the cartridge is easy to change and the parts are inexpensive, which makes them a natural candidate for repair rather than replacement.

Key Benefits
- Small envelope fits equipment where there is very little room
- Cartridge change is quick and can be done on the machine
- Double units drive two circuits from a single small motor
- Low cost per repair compared with fitting a new pump
Application Scenarios
- Tail lifts and small lifting equipment
- Compact tank top power units
- Light industrial presses and clamping equipment
- Small mobile plant and utility vehicles
Who It Is For
- Repair shops handling small power units
- Tail lift and access equipment service engineers
- Distributors carrying compact pump stock
- Machine builders using a small fixed displacement pump
Problems It Solves
- A small pump has worn out and a new complete unit costs more than the machine justifies
- The equipment is old and the original supplier no longer lists the frame
- Two circuits are needed from a single small motor
- The pump is buried in the machine and only a compact frame will fit
Technical Features
- Compact cast housing with bell housing or flange mounting
- Replaceable cartridge with hardened rotor, cam ring and vanes
- Double units on a common shaft
- Seal kits and shafts available as separate items
- Left or right hand rotation
Specifications
Performance figures depend on the exact variant, so we confirm them against your model code rather than publishing a number that may not apply to your pump.
| Pump type | Balanced vane pump, fixed displacement |
|---|---|
| Configuration | V10 and V20 single, V2010 and V2020 double |
| Mounting | Flange or bell housing |
| Rotation | Left or right hand, stated in the model code |
| Shaft end | Keyed or splined to the original pattern |
| Cartridge | Replaceable matched cartridge kit |
| Performance data | Confirmed against the full model code on your pump before quotation |
Materials
| Cylinder blocks | Case hardening steel with a sintered bronze running face, bonded and machined after sintering |
|---|---|
| Pistons and shoes | Case hardening steel with a bronze shoe face, swaged and hydrostatically balanced |
| Valve plates | Bearing steel or bronze faced steel depending on the frame, lapped to a mirror finish |
| Drive shafts | Alloy steel, carburised and hardened on the spline and bearing seats, ground on centres |
| Vanes and rotors | High speed tool steel and case hardening steel, hardened and ground on all working faces |
| Cam rings | Bearing quality alloy steel, through hardened then profile ground |
| Seals | Nitrile as standard, fluorocarbon or polyurethane on request for hot or fire resistant fluid duty |
Manufacturing Process
- Turning and millingBlanks are turned and milled from certified bar and forging stock on CNC machines.
- Heat treatmentCarburising, quenching, tempering or nitriding to the route the original part uses.
- GrindingBores, spline seats and running faces are ground after heat treatment so distortion is removed.
- Lapping and superfinishingValve plates, shoe faces and block faces are lapped so the pair seals under pressure.
- InspectionDimensions, hardness and surface finish are recorded against the drawing on a sampling plan.
- Assembly and testComplete pumps are built, run in and tested for efficiency, leakage and noise before packing.
Quality Control
- Incoming material certificates are checked against the grade called for on the drawing.
- Hardness is measured after heat treatment on every batch and recorded on the batch card.
- Critical bores and running faces are gauged against the drawing tolerance, not against a sample part.
- Mating parts are matched as a set so the block, shoes and valve plate run in together.
- Rebuilt pumps are bench tested for volumetric efficiency, external leakage and sound level.
- Parts are cleaned, oiled and vacuum sealed so they arrive without surface rust.
Certifications and Documentation
Supplied on request with an order. We do not claim approvals we cannot evidence.
| Material certificate | Mill certificate for the steel grade used in the batch |
|---|---|
| Hardness report | Surface and core hardness readings after heat treatment |
| Dimensional report | Measured values for the critical features named on the drawing |
| Test bench report | Flow, efficiency, leakage and sound readings for a rebuilt pump |
| Packing list and photographs | Carton contents and photographs of the packed goods before shipment |
Customization Options
- Shaft and splineKeyed, straight or splined shaft ends built to your sample or drawing.
- Port and mountingFlange, thread and mounting pattern matched to the pump already on the machine.
- Seal materialNitrile, fluorocarbon or polyurethane for hot oil, fire resistant fluid or low temperature duty.
- Rotation and displacementLeft or right hand rotation and the displacement code your circuit was set up for.
- Marking and packingNeutral packing, your own carton artwork and your own part number laser marked on the part.
Comparison With Other Products
| Point | V10 and V20 | SQP Series | V Series |
|---|---|---|---|
| Frame size | Small | Small to medium | Medium to large |
| Double units | V2010 and V2020 | SQP21 to SQP43 | 2520V to 4535V |
| Best fit | Compact equipment and tail lifts | Machine tools needing low noise | Presses and moulding machines |
| Repair cost | Lowest of the three | Low | Moderate |
Use Guide
- Drain the pump and mark the cover position before opening it.
- Replace the shaft seal at the same time as the cartridge.
- Fit the cartridge the correct way round for the rotation stamped on the housing.
- Fill the case with oil and turn the shaft by hand before starting.
- Check the suction strainer, which is the most common cause of repeat failure.
