Setting Up In-House Void Fill Paper Production
Fanfold kraft packs are the consumable behind paperEZ and Ranpak style dispensers, and crumpled kraft pads are the simplest void fill there is. Both can be produced from mill reels on site.
How It Works Step By Step

Work out the daily consumption
Fanfold output is set by machine speed: 90 m/min on the EM-PF500A, 150-200 m/min on the high speed EM-PF500B and PF800B, 150 m/min on the 2-layer EM-PF800A.

Fix the pack format
Perforation and folding length runs 8-15 inch, with 11 inch as standard. Changing outside the installed module range needs a module change, so settle the format before ordering.

Decide single layer or two layer
Single-layer fanfold suits general parcels. The C-fold inline machine feeds two rolls and folds them into a 2-layer paper that is much stronger on the surface.

Add pad forming if needed
The paper cushion machine forms crumpled pads at 25 m/min from 70-80 gsm kraft, and the EM-PR800 rewinder builds the 2-ply reel that makes those pads stronger.

Plan reel handling and power
Folding machines take reels up to 1200 mm on a 1 Ton unwinding stand and run on 380V 3 phase, drawing 3.5 kW to 5 kW.
