Food and beverage packaging

Water and soft drink lines run fast and audit hard. A closure defect that reaches the filler stops a line that costs more per hour than the inspection machine.

What goes wrong in this sector

Beverage packaging is where cap inspection earns its keep. A 2500 piece per minute cap line produces enough volume that a one percent escape rate is thousands of suspect closures a shift, and the cost lands downstream at the filler as leakage, torque failure or a rejected pallet.

For this sector we normally deploy a cap and closure system at the moulder and, where the customer also blows their own bottles, a bottle or preform system in front of the blower. Both reject online, so the defect never enters the accumulation table.

Defects that cost you money here

  • Black spots and stains on coloured closures that pass a quick visual check
  • Thread, compression ring and tamper band damage causing torque failures
  • Colour difference between cavities or between production runs
  • Preform gate defects and cracks that only show after blowing

Cap and Closure Visual Inspection Machines

The largest family in our range. These systems inspect plastic closures for water, beverage, dairy, daily chemical and pharmaceutical packaging at production speed, and remove the failures without stopping the line.

Representative configurations

A starting point, not a fixed recommendation. The final configuration comes from your parts and defect samples.
