Measure The Longest Vehicle Not The Average
Deck length is set by the longest vehicle that must be weighed in a single pass, plus clearance at both ends so the wheels are never on the approach. Standard lengths available are 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17.4, 18, 21 and 24 m. If occasional long vehicles are weighed axle by axle instead, say so, because that changes the deck length you need.

Width Follows The Approach Lane
Widths of 3 m, 3.2 m and 3.4 m are available. Wider decks make life easier for drivers approaching at an angle and reduce edge strikes, but they need a wider foundation and more approach space. Look at how vehicles actually arrive at the gate before deciding.
Capacity With Margin
Set capacity against the heaviest expected gross vehicle weight with margin for overloaded arrivals, not the legal limit. Capacity is customised to the site requirement and can be specified up to 300 t for special use.
Load Cells And Indicator
Decks are supplied with OIML R60 approved load cells, normally column or double shear beam types, and a printable indicator so each movement produces a ticket. Both cell families are catalogue items, which means a replacement years later matches the original set.

What The Civil Contractor Needs
Civil works are carried out locally. Your contractor needs deck dimensions, cell loads and mounting details, plus a plan for drainage under the pit or ramp, cable routing to the cabin and a level approach on both sides. Send us the layout early so these details are agreed before steel arrives.
