Decide What Leaves The Head
There are only four answers and each one selects a different family. Nothing leaves the head, so a basic display is enough. A printed ticket leaves, so you need a printable model. A price and a label leave, so you need a price computing or label printing head. A control signal leaves to a valve, relay or light, so you need a control output model.
Check Load Cell Compatibility
An analogue head has to match the bridge it drives. Confirm three lines from the load cell datasheet: output sensitivity in mV/V, input and output resistance in ohms, and the excitation range. The load cell families in this catalogue are mostly 350 ohm at 2 mV/V or 3 mV/V with 5 to 12 V DC recommended excitation, which the indicator range is built around.
Match Housing To The Cabin
A weighbridge cabin, a wet bench and a dry shop counter are three different environments. Stainless steel housings suit weighbridge and washdown positions, plastic housings suit dry indoor counters. Choosing a plastic head for an outdoor kiosk is the indicator equivalent of buying an IP65 scale for a hose down room.

Size The Display For The Reading Distance
An operator standing at the bench reads a 20 to 25 mm digit comfortably. A forklift driver across a loading bay does not. If the weight has to be read from several metres away, tell us the distance at quotation stage so we can recommend a large digit or remote display rather than sending a standard head.
Legal Trade Use Changes The Shortlist
If the scale is used to sell by weight, the head must carry approval that covers the division count you intend to certify, and the approval must be valid in the destination market. Send us the country, the capacity and the division and we will confirm which heads qualify before you order.
Do Not Forget Power And Mounting
Confirm mains voltage, whether an internal rechargeable battery is needed for a bench that has no socket, and how the head mounts: column, wall bracket or desk. These are the details that hold up a commissioning visit far more often than the weighing specification.
