A quality laboratory has two weighing problems: reading finely enough to prove the tolerance, and proving the balance itself is still right.

Balances Questions
Which readability do I need?
Work back from the smallest tolerance you have to prove. As a rule the balance readability should be at least ten times finer than the tolerance. For 0.1 mg work use an analytical model such as the FA series; for gram level work a precision model is enough and much less sensitive to draughts.
Can the balance send readings to a computer?
The analytical models list an RS232C output interface. Tell us what you are connecting to so we can confirm the cable and settings.
Do balances need a draft shield?
Any balance reading to 1 mg or finer does. The analytical models here are supplied with a glass draft shield as part of the build.
Can you supply calibration weights with the balance?
Yes. Stainless steel E2 and F1 weights ship from the same catalogue, so the balance and the weights used to check it arrive together.
