Load Cells

ZSF And ZSFY Column Load Cell

IP68 column cell for weighbridges and heavy platforms, 10 t to 50 t, two bridge resistance options.

Product Overview

The ZSF and ZSFY are IP68 column cells for heavy capacity weighing from 10 t to 50 t. The two variants differ in bridge resistance, 350 ohm class on the ZSF and 700 ohm class on the ZSFY, which decides how many cells one indicator can drive. Both are offered in alloy steel as the A version and stainless steel as the SS version, with cable lengths scaled to capacity from 8 m up to 16 m.

Category: Load Cells

Key Benefits

  • IP68 protection across the whole capacity range
  • Two bridge resistance options so large cell counts stay within indicator limits
  • Total error within ±0.03 percent of full scale on the main range
  • Cable length supplied to match the distance to the cabin

Problems It Solves

  • Indicators running out of drive capability with too many 350 ohm cells
  • Water ingress in pit installations
  • Cable joints in the pit because the supplied cable was too short

Who It Is For

  • Weighbridge and heavy platform manufacturers
  • Bulk handling and quarry installations
  • Operators extending an existing weighbridge cell set

Application Scenarios

  • Weighbridge deck with six or eight column cells
  • Heavy platform scale for coil or billet weighing
  • Silo and tank weighing at 10 t and above per leg
Technical

Technical Features

  • Rated capacities 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50 t
  • Sensitivity 2.0 ±0.002 mV/V
  • Total error within ±0.03 percent of full scale, and ±0.05 percent on 40 to 50 t stainless steel
  • IP68 protection throughout
  • Cable from 8 m at 10 t up to 16 m at 40 to 50 t

Materials And Construction

  • Alloy steel (A version)
  • Stainless steel (SS version)

Customisation Options

  • ZSF or ZSFY bridge resistance
  • Alloy steel or stainless steel construction
  • Cable length supplied per capacity

Use Guide

  • Choose ZSFY at 700 ohm where many cells share one indicator
  • Do not shorten the supplied cable, as cell output is calibrated with it
  • Keep the loading axis vertical and let the self aligning mounting do its work

Certification

  • Total error class within ±0.03 percent of full scale

How It Compares

Compared with alternatives in this catalogue
HM14C column cellBoth are column cells for 10 t and above. The ZSF family is IP68 throughout with two bridge resistance options; the HM14C publishes OIML style accuracy classes from C2 to A5M.
HM9B double shear beamColumn cells self align as the deck moves; double shear beams are often the easier retrofit. Deck design usually decides.

Questions Buyers Ask

ZSF And ZSFY Column Load Cell Questions

What is the difference between ZSF and ZSFY?

Bridge resistance. The ZSF is around 350 ohm and the ZSFY around 700 ohm, which matters when several cells are summed into one indicator.

Is a stainless version available?

Yes, the SS version is stainless steel; the A version is alloy steel.

Are these cells suitable for a pit installation?

They are IP68 across the range, which is the rating you want in a pit that can flood.
