Steel stud framing is assembled faster than timber, and the screw is the only thing holding the tolerance.
What the job demands
Light-gauge steel framing is screwed together at every stud-to-track junction, so the fastener count on a partition run is high and the drive has to be quick. A pan framing head sits low enough not to foul the board line, but only if the head height is consistent batch to batch. Thin gauge also punishes a blunt point: it pushes the sheet away instead of cutting, and the two layers separate.
How the range answers it
Pan framing screws are stocked in both sharp-point tapping and drill-point versions, so the same head profile covers pre-punched track and solid steel. Shank diameters from M3.5 to M6.3 and lengths from 13 mm cover stud gauges from 0.5 mm upward.
Supply pattern
Framing screws move in high volume and low mix, which suits bulk 25 kg carton packing on pallets. Mixed container loads with drywall screws are common because the two trades follow each other on site.
