Coatings and Corrosion Protection Options
The coating decides how long the fixing lasts. It is chosen from exposure, not from appearance.

The finish list
Self colour and plain; zinc plated in clear, blue, yellow and black; zinc plated with a wax topcoat; black oxide; black and grey phosphate; nickel; chrome; hot dip galvanising; Magni; and Ruspert. Not every finish suits every screw family, and the choice interacts with the drive: phosphate gives a bit more friction under the bit, plating with wax gives less driving torque.
Matching finish to exposure
Interior dry work is normally clear or blue zinc, or phosphate where the screw is hidden. Semi-exposed work such as a covered walkway calls for yellow zinc or nickel. Fully exposed structural timber and roofing steel need hot dip galvanising or a multi-layer system such as Ruspert or Magni, particularly in coastal air.
Hydrogen embrittlement
High grade classes that are electroplated need baking after plating. State the grade class when you order a plated finish above 8.8 so the process route is set correctly rather than assumed.
Colour coating
Colour-coated screws are produced for applications where the fastener head is visible against a finished surface. The colour is a topcoat over the base protective system, so corrosion performance follows the base system rather than the colour.
Other capabilities
- Custom and Non-Standard Fasteners – Standard and non-standard sizes are both made to order, so the drawing does not have to bend to a catalogue.
- Bulk Supply and Lead Times – Capacity is about 2,000 tons a month across two factories, with a 500 kg minimum per item.
- Quality Control and Inspection – Inspection is built into production, transportation and selling rather than bolted on at the end.
