What this family is for
A self-drilling screw has to do three jobs in one action: cut its own hole, form its own thread and clamp. If the point loses hardness the screw burns in the steel; if the case is too brittle the point snaps. The Ehons drill-point range is made from C1022 with heat treatment and finished in zinc plating, phosphate, nickel or Ruspert depending on how much exposure the joint sees, with #2 and #3 drill points covering thin gauge through to structural steel.
