What the job demands

Profiled metal roofing is fixed through the sheet into purlin or girt, which means every fastener is a hole in the weather envelope. The washer has to compress enough to seal without extruding, the drill point has to get through the purlin before the thread engages, and the coating has to outlast the sheet coating or the roof gets a rust streak under every screw.

How the range answers it

The hex washer head self-drilling screw is supplied with a bonded EPDM washer and a choice of #2 or #3 drill point, so the same head style covers thin gauge sheeting and heavier structural purlins. Finishes run from clear, blue and yellow zinc through phosphate and nickel to Ruspert where the exposure is severe.

Supply pattern

Roofing screws are usually bought in count packs rather than by weight because installers order per square metre of sheet. Small boxes of 1000, 500 or 250 pieces are available, cartoned and palletised for container shipment from Shanghai or Ningbo.
