Matching the Blade to the Concrete In Front of You
Contractors rarely get to choose what they cut. What they can choose is whether the blade in the machine was built for it. This is how the concrete programme is divided and when to use each part.
The 6 Decisions in This Chain
Assess the material
Green slab, cured slab, reinforced slab, asphalt, masonry and mixed layers each have their own series. Reinforcement density and layer thickness decide the matrix.
Select the cutting method
Floor and road saws for slab, wall saws for openings, ring saws for depth in confined space, diamond wire where geometry rules out a blade.
Joint and crack work
Tuck point blades for a clean set-width joint, crack chasers for opening an existing crack, U-slot and V-shape wave for dusty and soft material.
Drilling
Wet core bits from 25 to 350 mm; the dry series where water is not permitted on site.
Surface preparation
Arrow and double row cup wheels for coating removal, continuous rim wheels for smoothing, floor heads and discs for machine work.
Dry work in mixed material
The vacuum brazed programme covers blades, core bits, cup wheels, profile wheels and router bits for renovation work without water.
