Can a sanitary butterfly valve handle powder
Yes, but not a standard liquid valve. Our powder-tight wafer and tank-bottom discharge butterfly valves use a seat profile and disc clearance made for dry product. Tell us the bulk density and particle size and we will confirm the right body before quoting.
Which seat material should I choose
EPDM is the default for hot water and caustic CIP. Silicone suits high temperature steam contact, PTFE suits aggressive chemicals and solvents, Viton suits oils and fats. All four are stocked; state the media and the peak CIP temperature and we will specify it on the order.
Do you supply the actuator with the valve
Yes. Pneumatic actuated versions ship assembled and function tested. Specify single acting or double acting and the available air supply pressure.
