Packing and Loading Marine Equipment for Sea and Air Freight

Wooden case

Used for all kinds of machinery and for small but heavy items: windlasses, generator sets, valves and pumps. The case is built so a forklift can get under it, which is what allows it to be moved and fixed inside the container without rigging.

Carton packing

Used for small and light items: navigation and LED lights, marine radar, marine VHF handsets and small tools. Carton is also the packing that suits air freight, which is how most urgent lighting and filter orders travel.

Nude pallet

Used for heavy hard materials and accessories such as marine steel plate and marine anchors. There is nothing to protect from abrasion and everything to gain from being able to lift it directly.

Bag packing

Used for anchor chain and mooring rope. Chain and shackles travel in ton bags, rope in bags, both sized so a forklift moves them straight off the quay.

Loading is part of the job

We have our own packing workers and forklifts to load and fix cargo inside the container or on the aircraft pallet. Cargo that is packed well and fixed badly still arrives damaged, which is why the loading is done by the same team rather than left to the forwarder.
