What diameter of mooring rope do I need?
It follows from the vessel's equipment number and the breaking load required. Send us the vessel particulars or the required breaking load and we will quote the diameter.
Nylon or polyester for mooring?
Nylon absorbs shock loads better, which suits exposed berths. Polyester stretches less and keeps its strength when wet, which suits precise positioning.
How is rope inspected in service?
A visual inspection must be carried out every time a safety rope is used, before it is loaded.
Is the cable fire retardant?
Yes. Marine cable is required to have excellent temperature resistance and fire retardance because of the operating conditions on board.
How is rope packed?
In bags, easy for a forklift to move and to strike below without rigging.
