Drywall Screw Bugle Phillips Head Fine Thread
Fine thread bugle head drywall screw, the standard fixing for board onto steel stud.
This is the base fine thread drywall screw: bugle head, Phillips recess, fine pitch, C1022 with heat treatment. It is the highest-volume item in most partition contractors' buying, and it is bought by the tonne rather than by the box.
What separates a good one from a poor one is consistency rather than any clever feature. The recess has to be the same depth on the ten-thousandth screw as on the first, the bugle profile has to sink to the same level every time, and the case has to be hard enough to tap steel without the head snapping off in the gun.

Cam-out is the single largest time loss in board fixing. Recess depth is gauged through the production run for that reason.
Heads snap in the gun
A case that is hard enough to tap but a core that stays tough is the balance heat treatment has to hit. C1022 with heat treatment is the standard route.
Coarse thread in a steel stud
The fine pitch on this item is what makes it a steel stud screw. Timber studs need the coarse thread version.
