Quality control priorities
Rib formation under the head is checked visually on samples from every run, since ribs that are only partly formed do not cut the panel face and the screw then behaves like an ordinary countersunk wood screw. Plating colour is compared against a retained reference sample for batch consistency.
Customisation
Head diameter, rib pattern and thread length are all adjustable. For furniture production the usual special is a shortened thread with a plain shank so the screw clamps two panels rather than threading through both.

Within roughly 50 mm of a panel edge, pilot at core diameter.
Let the ribs cut
Drive at a moderate speed so the ribs shear the face rather than burnishing it.
