The feeder drive belt sets the delivery rate of every positive feeder on the machine, so its pitch, width and length have to match the machine and the feeders. TT5 is a common tooth pitch on circular knitting machines, and belts are supplied either as a continuous loop or with a joint.
Punched belts are used where the belt has to engage feeder wheels through holes rather than teeth. Belt length is normally quoted in millimetres, which is why references such as 10TT5 8600 carry both the width and the length.
