No plating to scratch through during assembly, which is the usual origin of rust on small plated springs.
Stainless tolerates repeated washing and detergent exposure that would strip a plated finish.
Production down to 0.1 mm wire covers the small sizes that valve and dispenser mechanisms use.
Avoid contact with carbon steel tooling and swarf during assembly, since embedded particles cause rust spots that look like a stainless quality failure but are not.
