Stainless steel cut wire shot in the as-cut condition is produced by drawing into wire and cutting, with the option of grinding and conditioning into roundness. Length equals diameter on every grain.
It is widely used for cleaning, deburring, surface improvement, shot blasting and shot peening of aluminium, non-ferrous metals, zinc alloys and stainless steel precision parts. The workpiece takes a matte finish, the metal colour is highlighted and no rust is left, so acid treatment and rust removal are not needed. Abrasion resistance is 3 to 5 times greater than cast steel shot.

- Check the substrate first. Ferrous media on non-ferrous parts leaves iron that rusts. This is a non-ferrous safe range.
- Match the grain size to the feature. Smaller grains give more impacts per kilogram and a finer finish. Larger grains carry more energy per impact.
- Match the shape to the job. As-cut cuts harder and reaches corners. Conditioned is used for peening and for a matte finish.
- Run a trial batch. Minimum order is 500 kg, which is low enough to prove the media on your own parts before volume.
- Store dry. Keep bags on the pallet and off the floor until the media goes into the machine.
