Conditioned carbon steel cut wire shot is made by cutting carbon steel wire, with the length equal to the diameter, giving uniform hardness and density.

It is widely used for surface improvement, deburring, descaling, shot blasting and peening on non-ferrous metals and other steel parts. Compared with steel shot, conditioned cut wire shot has broader application, longer durability, no pore and no crack, higher density and a stronger jet.

It is applied in the aviation industry, automotive, foundry, semiconductor manufacturing and consumer goods manufacture. Processed by conditioning the shape turns to a round grain, mainly used in the automobile industry on gears, bearings and springs.

  • Check the substrate first. This is a ferrous range, intended for steel parts and for peening steel components.
  • Match the grain size to the feature. Smaller grains give more impacts per kilogram and a finer finish. Larger grains carry more energy per impact.
  • Match the shape to the job. As-cut cuts harder and reaches corners. Conditioned is used for peening and for a matte finish.
  • Run a trial batch. Minimum order is 1,000 kg, which is low enough to prove the media on your own parts before volume.
  • Store dry. Keep bags on the pallet and off the floor until the media goes into the machine.
