Sinoware has manufactured off-grid solar lighting in Shenzhen since 2007. We build the lantern, the home system, the street light and the pump that a rural household actually pays for, and we build them to a price a programme can afford.
One Requirement Nobody Would Build Started This Company
In 2010 an Indonesian customer came to us for the PLN SEHEN programme and needed a large quantity of a specific solar lamp. We searched and could not find it. No factory wanted to develop for that demand without an assurance of future orders. We offered replacement systems and they were refused, because an open tender has to be followed to the letter.
So we built our own R&D team. From moulding through to components it took eight months of day and night work, and the lamp passed the Indonesian laboratory test. We supplied 150,000 pieces of solar lamp to Lapuwan Island near Bali.
That is still how the company works. If the product a programme needs does not exist yet, we develop it.

The Six Things We Build In House
These are the technologies the company lists as its own. Everything on the product pages comes back to one of them.
MPPT charging
Maximum power point tracking built into the lighting systems, street lights and pump controllers. On the same panel it is quoted at 30 percent faster charging than a PWM controller.
Water resistance
Rain-proof lantern housings and IP54, IP65 ratings on the outdoor products, including the fishing light and the street lights.
PAYG
Token based unlocking on the pay as you go systems, OpenPAYGO certified and supplied on the PaygOps platform.
Solar fishing lamp design and control
Lamp bodies, brightness stepping and run time control developed in house for night fishing use.
LED efficiency
Work on lumen per watt output, with SEHEN lamps specified at a minimum of 125 lm/w.
Cost optimisation
Cost engineering across panel, battery, LED and moulding so a programme price can be met without dropping the specification.

Moulding, component sourcing, assembly and test sit in one place, which is why a specification change does not turn into a six month conversation. Lantern supply ability is quoted at 100,000 pieces per month.
