Ditch Steel Grating 32x5 Carbon Steel
Hot-dip galvanized ditch grating on 32x5 bearing bar with a 6 mm round cross bar, for yard and roadway channels crossed by vehicles.

Product Overview
Outdoors the problem is different: not washdown chemistry but wheel loads, grit and weather. A 32x5 bearing bar is thick enough not to be bent by a wheel landing between supports, and the 6 mm round cross bar sheds the grit and leaf litter that blocks a tighter mesh. Hot-dip galvanizing after fabrication protects the cut ends at every panel joint along the run, which is where an outdoor channel cover rusts first. This is the section for the drainage line across a yard, a loading bay or an access road inside a site boundary.
Key Benefits
- 5 mm bar thickness resists deformation from wheels landing between supports
- Open round cross bar sheds grit and leaf litter instead of blocking
- Galvanized after fabrication, so every cut end along the run is coated
- Panel lengths set for handling in the open, with hold-downs where vehicles cross

How It Compares With The Alternatives
A technical comparison against other ways of solving the same problem. Nothing here is a performance claim against a named competitor product.
| Against a stock panel cut to fit on site | A stock panel trimmed on site loses its banding, its bar pitch at the edge and its coating at every cut. This one is drawn to the opening and coated after it is fabricated. |
| Against buying the panel and its frame separately | Panel, banding, hooks, frame and handrail are fabricated and coated in the same plant and the same batch, which is what makes them fit each other. |
| Against another family in this range | See the Ditch Steel Grating page for what this family does that the others do not, and the related products below for the nearest alternatives. |
