Which light type suits my part
It depends on the surface and the feature. Diffuse ring and dome lights suit curved or shiny parts, low angle ring and bar lights bring out scratches and edges, back lights and parallel back lights give outline and dimension, coaxial lights suit flat specular surfaces, and line scan lights suit continuous web material.
Can the colour and angle be changed
Yes. Ring lights are described as flexible to make different angles and colours to suit different machine vision applications, and diffusers and extension cables of 1m, 3m and 5m are listed as options on most series.
What lead time applies to a custom light
SBS Vision provides customised design service and can normally provide the samples within 10 working days. Most customised products are provided within two weeks, and urgent demand can be shortened to around five days.
Do I need a controller with the light
Each lighting series parameter table lists its recommended controllers, typically the SBS-AC analog controller, the SBS-DC digital controller or the SBS-ODC overdrive strobe controller.
