What This Covers
Continuous web and high speed inspection is where illumination intensity stops being a comfort and starts being the constraint. Short exposures need very high light output, and the light has to be uniform across the full illumination length.
SBS Vision fan cooling and air cooling line scan lights are rated at 1.5 million lux at a 200mm working distance. The natural cooling line scan light is rated at 1 million lux at a 150mm working distance, over an effective illumination length of up to 3600mm. The line scan tunnel light is rated at more than 1 million lux at a 10mm working distance.
Process
From Requirement To Delivery
Fix The Line Rate
Line speed and required resolution set the line rate, and the line rate sets the exposure time you have to work inside.
Size The Illumination
Choose the intensity and the effective illumination length so the whole web width is evenly lit at that exposure.
Select The Cooling Method
Natural cooling, fan cooling and air cooling give different intensity and different mechanical constraints. The controller is matched to the light.
Match The Line Scan Optics
4K, 8K and 16K line scan lenses cover the sensor formats, with telecentric line scan optics where perspective error has to be removed.
Confirm Uniformity Across The Web
Uniform imaging from centre to edge of the sensor is what stops false rejects at the web edges.
