What is a PU foam wheel?
It is a wheel with a polyurethane foam tyre moulded onto a rim. It has the profile and much of the cushioning of a pneumatic tyre, but it is solid throughout, so it cannot puncture or deflate.
Does a foam wheel ride as well as an air wheel?
Close, but not identical. A foam wheel absorbs noticeably more shock than a hard solid wheel and slightly less than a correctly inflated pneumatic tyre. For most cart and barrow work the difference is small.
Can I replace a pneumatic wheel with a foam wheel of the same size?
Usually yes, provided diameter, section, rim size and bore all match. Send the size you are replacing and the axle dimensions and ask for confirmation.
