Product Overview
A sphere water feature is a hollow steel ball sitting on a pedestal tube with water rippling and flowing over the mirror surface. Ours are made from AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel.
An inner pipe runs through the ball and ends in a funnel at the top. That funnel is what makes the flow even, so the water sheets over the whole sphere rather than running down one side. The pipe exits at the bottom, usually with a further 10 inch length, and attaches to a square stainless base plate for mounting.

Materials
We form spheres and hemispheres in AISI 304, AISI 316 and AISI 316L stainless steel, Q235 carbon steel, H62 brass alloy and A6061 aluminium alloy. The alloy decides corrosion resistance, weight and how the surface takes a polish.
For this product the standard specification is 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel. Tell us the site conditions and we will confirm whether a different grade is worth the cost.
Manufacturing Process
Forming happens by stamping press, water pressuring, spinning or hand assembling. Two halves are joined at the equator, the weld is ground, and the surface is finished last, after any cutting or drilling has been done.
Quality Control
Incoming material
Alloy and sheet thickness are checked against the order before any blank is cut.
Forming check
Diameter and wall are measured after pressing, spinning or water pressuring.
Weld and grind
The equator weld is inspected, then welds and burrs are ground off before finishing.
Surface inspection
Every piece is inspected for scratches, dents and polish consistency under light.
Packing
Protective packing is built around the diameter and weight, and photographs are sent before dispatch.
