Installing It Without Losing Performance

  • Pull Cat6A Blue at a steady, low tension. Pair geometry stretched during installation cannot be recovered, and it shows up as a return loss failure at certification.
  • Keep untwist length to the minimum the connector allows when terminating Cat6A Blue — it is the most common reason a field-terminated link fails while a factory cord on the same run passes.
  • Tight bends deform the pairs inside Cat6A Blue and change impedance at that point. The panel end is where this is most often violated.
  • Terminate the screen on Cat6A Blue properly or specify the unshielded equivalent instead — a floating screen can behave as an antenna rather than a barrier.
