Colour Matching And Sizing

Getting the colour and size right the first time avoids delays and extra costs. A mismatched colour or wrong base size means a return, a custom rebuild, or a cut-down unit that doesn't fit. We use clear, repeatable systems for both so you know exactly what you're ordering and what you'll receive.

Step By Step

Getting It Right Before Production

The two things that cause most reorders, handled up front.

01

Find Your Colour Code

Colour codes can be confusing, especially with grey blends or subtle tones.

Use the men's system: 1# jet black, 1B# natural black, 1A# between 1# and 1B#, then brown, ash, red and blonde tones up to 613#. Grey is a percentage blend like 1B30# or 1B65# - the number is the grey mix.

02

Measure Or Send A Template

A stock base is a rectangle, but your head is not. Measuring by hand can lead to errors.

For toppers, measure width across the top and length from hairline to back. For full caps, take circumference, front to nape, ear to ear across forehead and top, temple to temple, and nape width. Or send a physical template we cut to.

03

Confirm Before We Ship

Cutting or styling before shipment changes the unit permanently.

If you want the base cut or hair styled before delivery, let us know. This adds 2 to 5 working days but ensures the fit and look are ready when you open the box.

04

Check It Before You Cut It

Once cut, styled, coloured or worn, the unit can't be returned.

Open the parcel and check colour, density, base size and fit before altering it. The 30-day return policy applies only to unused, uncut, uncoloured units.

05

Order Again With Confidence

Reordering the same unit is hard if the code or size isn't remembered.

We store your colour code and base size. Next time, just say 'same as before' and we'll rebuild it exactly.

FAQ

Colour Matching And Sizing Questions

How do I read the colour codes?

Use the men's system: 1# jet black, 1B# natural black, 1A# between them, then brown, ash, red (R), and blonde up to 613#. Grey is a blend like 1B30# - the number is the grey percentage.

What if I don't know my base size?

Measure width across the top and length from hairline to back for toppers. For full caps, take circumference, front to nape, ear to ear, temple to temple, and nape width. Or send a physical template.

Can I send a template instead of measurements?

Yes. A physical template is more accurate than hand-measured numbers. We cut the base to your template before shipping.

Does cutting or styling the hair before shipping delay delivery?

Yes. Cutting the base or styling the hair adds 2 to 5 working days to dispatch time. We'll confirm the new timeline when you order.

What if I order the wrong custom size by mistake?

Wrong custom sizes cannot be refunded. But we can adjust the unit at extra cost, or you can cut it down yourself.

Can I reorder the same colour and size later?

Yes. We keep your colour code and base size on file. Just say 'same as before' and we'll rebuild it exactly.

Is the grey blend percentage easy to repeat?

Yes. 1B30# means 30% grey mixed into natural black. The same code will give the same blend every time.

Send Us A Photo To Match

Photograph your own hair in daylight next to a white sheet of paper and we will name the closest code and grey percentage.
