The scale of the problem

Millions of tonnes of food are discarded every year. The environmental and economic implications are profound, and landfill is the worst destination for it.

One principle, many sizes

Composting machines run from small bins suitable for households to large industrial units used by municipalities and businesses. All of them share one principle: breaking down organic matter into compost through biological processes by providing ideal conditions for microorganisms.

The environmental case

Diverting organic waste from landfill avoids the methane it would otherwise release. Instead the waste becomes compost, a soil amendment that improves soil structure and fertility.

The economic case

Machines reduce the costs associated with waste disposal and produce something that can be sold or used on site. For most operators the disposal saving is the number that carries the business case.
