Manufacturing Process Guide
How a magnetic component part goes from your drawing to a packed carton at CB Magnetics.
Six stages, all inside one plant in Zengcheng District Guangzhou. The route is the same whether the part is a catalogue geometry running on an existing tool or a new tool cut for your drawing.
1 Drawing Review
Your drawing or part number is checked against tooling that already exists. This step is free and it regularly removes the need for a new tool altogether.
2 Tool Design
The mould is designed at the CAD station. Section split, gate position, pin retention and draft are decided here, which is where most later problems are avoided.
3 Tool Making
Steel is cut on wire cut EDM and CNC machines in our own tool room.
4 Moulding And Assembly
Bodies are moulded in the specified thermoset or thermoplastic, terminals are inserted, and where the order is for a finished component the core is fitted and the part is wound on the assembly line.
5 Measurement And Test
Moulded parts are checked against the drawing in the measuring room using a profile projector, microscope and gauges. Wound parts go to the electrical test bench for inductance and resistance with an LCR meter and Kelvin clips, plus winding and insulation checks.
6 Packing And Shipment
Packed to the method stated on the part page, labelled and held in the finished goods warehouse until collection.
