What to Check Before a Workshop Lift Is Delivered

Confirm the Floor First

Every anchored lift depends on the slab. Thickness, condition and the presence of underfloor services all have to be established before the order, not on the day of installation. We supply the anchor pattern and slab specification before delivery so the floor can be checked in advance.

• Slab thickness and condition at each column position
• Underfloor heating, drainage or conduit in the anchor zone
• Whether the building owner permits anchoring at all

For In-Ground Lifts the Pit Comes First

An in-ground scissor lift such as the ASL40/40S or ASL50T sits in a floor pocket, and that pocket has to be built to the drawing. We send the foundation drawing before the civil work is commissioned, because a pocket cut to the wrong dimensions is expensive to correct.

If You Cannot Touch the Floor

There are two answers that need no civil work at all. The ASL27M has an initial height of 110 mm and is trench-free with an integrated pulley. The ASL30M is designed for free installation and can be moved at any time.

Measure the Headroom Honestly

Clear floor two post lifts carry the connection overhead, so ceiling height governs both the lift and the tallest vehicle you can raise under it. If the building will not take it, the base floor models move the connection to the floor instead and remove the height restriction above the vehicle.

Confirm Voltage Air and Controls

These are the details that hold up a commissioning visit.

• Local voltage and phase, so the power unit is built to match
• Compressed air supply where pneumatic release or a pneumatic lock is used
• Whether you want the 24V safety electronic control box, which is standard on electric lock models and optional on manual lock models

Plan the Handover

Before the installer leaves, run the lift through a full cycle, confirm the safety locks engage and release correctly, and check the lock engagement height. On the base floor two post models the safety lock works from within 500 mm of the ground, so that behaviour can be verified early in the lift rather than only at working height.
