Wet Or Damaged Bags
Sodium hydroxide picks up moisture and carbon dioxide from air. Our bags are dry sealed multi layer construction and finished stock is stored under cover until the container is loaded.
Dates That Slip
Flakes ship within 7 to 10 days and pearls within 15 to 20 days after order confirmation. Around 80 containers leave our yard each month so capacity is not the bottleneck.
Paperwork That Fails At Customs
Caustic soda is UN 1823 class 8. Bags are marked and the dangerous goods documents travel with the shipment so the cargo clears without a second submission.
No Independent Check
Export products are inspected by agencies such as SGS CIQ and INTERTEK. You choose the agency and the inspection point before we load.

Appearance
Pearls are white free flowing solid granules. Flakes are thin white solid plates. Both are strongly alkaline and highly corrosive.
Formula
NaOH. Also called sodium hydroxide caustic soda lye or, in the pearl form, granulated caustic soda.
Transport Class
UN 1823 sodium hydroxide solid class 8. Bags carry the class 8 corrosive label net weight and gross weight.
