A compact solid exposes less surface to air per tonne than a flake or a pearl, which helps where stock turns slowly.

The solid grade carries the same 99.0% minimum purity and 0.5% maximum carbonate as our other forms so a switch does not change your alkali strength.

Making Up A Solution Safely
Sodium hydroxide releases a large amount of heat when it dissolves. The order in which you combine the materials is the single most important control.
- Always add caustic soda to water and never the other way round.
- Charge slowly into stirred cold water and control the heat of solution.
- Wear splash goggles a face shield gloves and chemical resistant clothing.
- Keep containers closed and the store dry.
- Segregate from acids aluminium zinc and organic materials.
