Why Zero Tolerance Sites Still Need a Numeric Threshold

Even if a site enforces zero tolerance, a numeric alarm point is required for operational consistency. Without a defined threshold, the device cannot trigger an alert. The 0.02% setting provides a margin for early detection and procedural clarity, even when the policy is strict.

The alarm point must be confirmed in writing before shipment. Include the desired threshold—0.02%, 0.05%, or 0.08%—in the purchase order or via email. The device is shipped pre-configured for the destination market, but the alarm point is set at the service centre based on your instruction.

What to Do When a Reading Is Between the Alarm Point and 0.032% BAC

The device's accuracy is established at 0.008% and 0.032% BAC. Readings above 0.032% are not established. If a result falls between the alarm point and 0.032%, treat it as a high-value data point. Document the reading and consider it a potential exceedance, but do not assume it is accurate beyond the established range.
