After a ribbon is woven you can screen various words or patterns onto it, and it is generally cheaper than weaving the same detail directly. That single fact decides a great many branding questions in this trade, especially on short runs and on artwork that changes every season.
How It Actually Runs
Artwork and Screen
Vector artwork is separated by colour and screens are prepared. Changing artwork between runs costs a screen, not a plate.
Ground Selection
The tape underneath matters. Polyester takes the sharpest edges, cotton reads matt and natural, polypropylene keeps promotional cost down.
Print and Cure
Ink is laid into the face and cured. A proper cure is the difference between a print that survives handling and one that rubs.
Registration Check
Registration is checked at the start, middle and end of each roll so the artwork does not drift down the length.
Rub and Wash Check
Cured print is rub tested before the roll passes. We would rather find it here than you find it in assembly.
Cut Length Alignment
Repeat pitch is set to your finished cut so each piece carries the artwork in the same place.

Print or weave, which should we choose
Print for short runs, text heavy artwork and designs that change seasonally. Weave when the mark must survive industrial laundering and heavy abrasion, because a jacquard mark is structural rather than applied.
Does the ground fibre change how the print looks
Considerably. Ink behaves differently on polyester, cotton and polypropylene, which is why we send a printed sample on your chosen ground rather than a generic swatch.
Can printing and jacquard be combined on one tape
Yes, and it is often the sensible answer: weave the element that must last, print the element that changes.
