Cotton or linen headbands for a hardcover run
Cotton is flexible and easy to adhere, which makes it convenient on a running line. Linen is stronger and more durable but less pliable and may require a second application to achieve a smooth finish.
Why not use polyester headbands, they cost less
Polyester provides relatively lower structural support and is generally not recommended for hardcover binding where higher durability is required. On lighter cased stationery it is a reasonable choice.
Can you match the band to our case cloth
Send the cloth or endpaper swatch. We match the ground and the edge stitching to it and send a woven sample for written approval before the run.
