How It Compares
Cord passes through eyelets and channels that flat tape cannot, and it knots cleanly. Tape spreads load across a width, which cord does not.
Elastic cord is for anything that needs to give. Fixed cord holds a set length, which is what a drawstring or a hang tag actually wants.
Braided and woven cord holds its round section and resists untwisting. Twisted string is cheaper but opens up at the cut end.
